Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning and ongoing testing for electrical power systems up to 500 kV. The role includes hands-on testing, study work, and relay calibration in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification, current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective-relay schemes.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power-system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret/test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians; lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
