Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing in Texas to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. The role requires up to 75% travel across regional and national projects.

You'll conduct power system studies, test protective relays, and analyze results while mentoring technicians and leading project teams. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies this challenging position.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
