Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV across various sites. You will interpret results, prepare detailed reports, and lead safety-conscious field execution.

The role requires NETA Level III/IV certification, 7+ years of hands-on HV testing, and travel up to 75%. Vertiv offers strong OT policies, a signing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF, and equivalents.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field and serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
