Job summary
Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. Role includes leading testing projects, mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with NETA/OSHA standards.
Travel up to 75% regionally, with competitive compensation up to $110/hour. Company vehicle, signing bonus, and comprehensive benefits are provided.
Qualifications
- NETA Level III/IV certification in good standing.
- 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
- Ability to interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.
Responsibilities
- Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
- Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
- Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
- Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
- Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
- Mentor Level I/II technicians and lead multi-discipline project teams.
