Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. The role requires regionally focused travel and hands-on testing expertise with protection relays and power quality analysis.

The position offers base compensation up to $110/hour, generous OT and travel benefits, a signing bonus, a company vehicle, per diem, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have NETA Level III or IV Certification in good standing.
• Experience performing electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret and analyze test results; write engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
