Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. You will analyze test results, generate engineering reports, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced environment.

Travel up to 75% is required, with a base in Texas. Competitive compensation includes OT, signing bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Strong safety and standards knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification is required and current.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line and schematic diagrams and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; write comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor technicians and serve as technical lead on project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
