Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is hiring a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing in Cleveland, OH to perform electrical testing, maintenance and repair on distribution systems. Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) and work with a team to meet safety and quality standards.

Minimum qualifications include an EPC or EE degree, 2+ years of switchgear testing experience, and strong PC skills. NETA certification is desirable and eligibility to travel 40%+ is required.

Qualifications

• Must have good PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel; PowerDB experience a plus.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently; strong communication and teamwork.
• Able to drive locally/regionally and travel overnight as needed.
• NetA Certification (I–IV) or similar desired; 2+ years of switchgear testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot and collect data on electrical distribution systems.
• Perform field tests on instrument transformers, power transformers and relays.
• Test switchgear, circuit breakers, and perform relay calibration and metering tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and rotate on-call duty as required.
