Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a NETA Field Service Technician in Cleveland, OH to perform electrical testing, maintenance and repair on distribution systems. Travel to client sites, troubleshoot, and collect data across low to high voltage equipment.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, NETA certification preferred, and strong PC skills. Candidates must be able to pass background checks and drug testing, with a willingness to travel up to 40% and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical Power & Controls or EE degree from ABET accredited college, or equivalent military training.
• NETA Certification (I, II, III, or IV) or similar preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
• Proficient PC skills (email, internet, data entry, Excel).
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Field Service Technicians travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage electrical systems.
• Instrument transformer tests
• Power transformer testing - Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
• Test both electro-mechanical and solid state relays
• Cable testing - Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot
• Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting
• Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing
• Moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner
