Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. This role provides and coordinates clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, under supervision.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, the RN will participate in education, decision-making, and quality improvement activities, with opportunities to advance through the CAP requirements

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current state license.
• CPR/BLS certification current; able to meet state practice requirements.
• RN with at least 9 months experience; at least 3 months in chronic/acute hemodialysis.

Responsibilities

• Assess and coordinate patient care for assigned group during hemodialysis.
• Document data in the medical record and adjust treatment plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs and care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications per protocol and document effectiveness.
• Assist with emergency response and contribute to staff training as needed.
• Lead and mentor Patient Care Technicians/LPNs/RNs as assigned.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing and timely reporting.
