Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Special Care Nursery Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for night shift coverage. The role involves direct care for adults and neonates in the NICU, performing a wide range of respiratory therapies and diagnostic procedures.

The ideal candidate has NICU experience, proper licensure through the Texas Medical Board, NBRC registration, and required certifications. This position supports a 12X3 night schedule in Mansfield, TX.

Qualifications

• NICU / Special Care Nursery experience is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory therapies including oxygen, humidification, aerosol therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
• Performs arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and medical record review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data in patient care.
• Maintains and troubleshoots ventilators and other cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Uses patient communication scripts to improve satisfaction.
