Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Special Care Nursery Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to cover a 12X3 night shift (7P-7A). The role includes neonatal and adult respiratory care, ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support, under indirect supervision by the medical director.

Requirements include NICU experience, graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, Texas licensure, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience, with NRP/PALS to be obtained

Qualifications

• NICU / Special Care Nursery experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Texas Medical Board license in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB and airway maintenance.
• Performs diagnostic procedures: ABG, PFTs, ECGs and related reports.
• Prepares bedside assessment including patient interview and medical record review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data for patient care decisions.
• Assembles and maintains cardiopulmonary equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
