Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for its Special Care Nursery in Mansfield, TX. The role focuses on NICU care, including ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and complex cardiopulmonary therapies for adults and neonates.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited Respiratory Care Program degree, Texas licensure, NBRC registration, and BLS/ACLS; NRP or PALS will be obtained within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, bronchodilators, chest physiotherapy and ventilator management.
• Conducts arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies and ECGs as prescribed.
• Performs bedside assessments, reviews medical records and documents treatment plans.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data to guide care.
• Maintains and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
• Ensures infection control, safety, and quality assurance in daily operations.
• Engages with patients and families to provide education and support.
