Job summary

Wheelcare Express, Inc is seeking an Assistant Manager to supervise day-to-day operations in our NEMT service area in California. You will coordinate with medical facilities, clients, and internal staff to ensure on-time transportation and strong customer care.

The role requires empathy for diverse clients, including children, seniors and medically vulnerable individuals, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in Transportation Management or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in a leadership role such as Branch Manager or Office Manager preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and smartphone apps.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain efficient daily operations in the service area.
• Assist HR with recruiting, hiring, training, and supporting new employees.
• Ensure effective communication with medical partners, facilities and clients.
• Manage Drivers, Dispatchers, and Schedulers.
• Monitor routes and field operations for safety and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with billing and accounting for revenue cycle support.
• Prepare operational documentation per company policy.
• Support compliance and audit readiness.
• Contribute to regional growth and expansion initiatives.
• Prepare operational and performance reports for management.
