This role provides hands-on training in NDT methods while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and client requirements. You will prepare equipment and paperwork, assist with radiographic, ultrasonic, and other NDT tasks, travel to customer sites, and participate in safety meetings.

NDT AssistantPosition SummaryThe NDT Assistant supports certified Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians in performing inspections and related field activities. This is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience and training in NDT methods while maintaining compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety and quality requirements.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist certified NDT technicians with the setup, performance, and completion of inspections.Prepare equipment, materials, and work areas for NDT activities.Transport, handle, clean, and maintain inspection equipment and related tools.Assist with inspection documentation and completion of required field paperwork.Follow written procedures, work instructions, client requirements, and technician direction.Maintain a safe and organized work area.Participate in required safety meetings, training, and job safety analyses.Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).Assist with equipment inspections and report damaged or defective equipment.Support technicians with radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, visual, or other NDT activities as assigned and when properly trained.Accurately document training and experience hours when applicable toward NDT certification requirements.Travel to customer locations and work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous industrial, construction, inspection, or NDT experience is preferred but not required.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to work safely in industrial and field environments.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must be dependable and maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality.Must meet applicable company, client, and regulatory requirements for assigned work.Physical and Work RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials associated with NDT activities.Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather and industrial conditions.Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around industrial equipment when required.Must be able to wear required PPE.Safety and ComplianceThe NDT Assistant is responsible for following all company safety policies, quality procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
