Job summary

GE Vernova in Wilmington, DE, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to assemble, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and modify a wide range of mechanical and electronic equipment used in manufacturing and nuclear measurement fields.

You will work with prototype and production equipment, read schematics and vendor manuals, and use advanced test gear to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Safety, documentation, and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma (GED) with five (5) years of experience in maintenance or fabrication of related industrial equipment.
• Technical school associate degree in electronics, instrumentation, or micro-electronic solid-state technology; or equivalent military, industrial, or college training with three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical control equipment.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, ladder logic, instruction manuals and logic symbol schematics.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with basic hand tools, soldering equipment, electrical and electronics test equipment.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with microprocessor software structure and commands.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and quality assurance automated systems.
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and ladder logic.
• Must be skilled in troubleshooting computer hardware, software and interface peripherals; understand programmable controllers and state-of-the-art process control.
• Utilize test equipment and diagnostic software to troubleshoot and correct hardware and software problems; document changes.
• Provide training and diagnostic assistance for other personnel as needed.
• Install new or modified equipment or systems and update documentation.
• Generate equipment information, preventative maintenance and calibration procedures for auditable documentation.
• Consult with vendors and engineers to minimize downtime.
