Job summary

GE Vernova in Wilmington, NC is seeking a highly skilled maintenance technician to perform setup, installation, alteration, repair or rearrangement of complex equipment and their controls. The role requires reading complex drawings, diagnosing malfunctions, and performing work across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; formal training in maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Associate degree in a maintenance specialty or trade is desirable.
• Shop Math including decimals and fractions.
• Read and interpret complex mechanical and electrical drawings, sketches, and schematics.
• Three years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance or completion of GE Hitachi Training Program (GE Employees only).
• Experience with machine tools such as milling machines, presses, grinders, lathes, saws, etc.
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems and precision alignment.
• Ability to work shifts and lift up to 40 pounds; pass safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, alter, install, repair or rearrange complex equipment and their controls.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions with minimal supervision.
• Read and follow complex drawings to ensure correct alignment and installation.
• Overhaul and repair intricate mechanisms with multiple systems (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
• Service various machines and control equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document activities in plant records.
