Job summary

Amentum in Washington, DC area seeks an experienced Aircraft Mechanic 2/NDI II to oversee and perform helicopter maintenance tasks in CH-47/AH-64/UH-60 settings. You’ll inspect, troubleshoot, and prepare aircraft for inspections, lead teams, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, NAS 410/ASNT-CP-189 training, and 3+ years in aviation maintenance with rotary wing experience. CBA-based hourly compensation applies, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• U.S. military technical school or specialized training desired; certification of education level required.
• Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional).
• Three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing experience, two years on the assigned MDS within last six years.
• Must be trained and qualified per NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189 to assigned level.
• Experience inspecting aeronautical maintenance and leading teams on complex tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and performs maintenance on helicopters per manuals and safety procedures.
• Oversees removal/installation of engines, rotors, gearboxes, and subsystems.
• Oversees inspections and prepares aircraft for checks.
• Oversees troubleshooting of subsystems and uses specialized tools.
• Maintains records and prepares forms related to maintenance.
• Ensures lockout/tagout procedures before maintenance.
• Leads teams and provides guidance to Level I personnel.
