Orion is seeking an NCCCO Certified Crane Operator to support field construction on marine and heavy civil projects in Louisiana. You will operate cranes on docks, wharves, bridges, and terminals, coordinating with crews to ensure safe, efficient lifts.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable performance in demanding waterfront environments, with opportunities for long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years crane operations experience on land or barge.
• Ability to read crane load charts and determine load/radius.
• Knowledge of rigging gear: slings, chokers, spreader bars.
• Capable of passing crane operations certification test.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic rubber tire or track crane on marine construction sites.
• Assists in unloading and assembling crane equipment for marine activities.
• Safely maneuver loads over designated areas with crane controls.
• Perform basic maintenance such as lubrication and fueling of equipment.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and report issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Barge Foreman, Welders, Laborers and other crew to complete projects.
