Job summary

Orion is seeking an NCCCO Certified Crane Operator to support field construction on marine and heavy civil projects. This self-performing role involves operating cranes on docks, barges and waterfront facilities, coordinating with supervisors and skilled trades to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

The incumbent must meet crane operation experience requirements, pass certification tests, and follow safety protocols while working in demanding marine environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years crane operations experience on land and barges.
• Must be capable of passing a crane operations certification test.
• Read crane load charts and perform rigging as needed.
• Understand safety protocols and follow company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a hydraulic rubber tire or track crane on marine projects.
• Support unloading and assembling crane equipment for marine construction.
• Swing and position loads safely over designated areas.
• Perform daily safety inspections and basic maintenance on crane equipment.
• Coordinate with Barge Foreman, Welders and crew to complete projects.
• Adhere to safety and environmental initiatives and regulations.
