Job summary

Orion is seeking a Crane Operator to support field operations at marine project locations. You will operate hydraulic cranes on barges and shore facilities, load and position heavy materials, and work closely with the Barge Foreman and trades to ensure safe, on-time project completion.

Safety, quality, delivery, and teamwork are paramount as you perform daily inspections and maintain equipment. The role requires adherence to site policies and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years crane operations experience on land and on barges.
• Ability to read, understand, and use crane load charts.
• General knowledge of construction rigging (slings, chokers, spreader bars, load blocks).
• Able to pass a crane operations certification test.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic crane on barges and onshore locations for marine construction.
• Assist in unloading, assembling, and positioning crane equipment for projects.
• Position loads safely over designated areas and follow load charts.
• Perform maintenance and daily safety inspections on crane equipment.
• Collaborate with Barge Foreman, Welders, Laborers and other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently.
