Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract, delivering BAN/LAN/WAN operations and COMSEC services for the Navy NMCI. You will lead a large technical team, interact with government customers, and drive incident response, change management, and project sustainment.

Ideal candidates have DoD experience, a TS-eligible clearance, and DoD 8570.01 IAT II certifications, with 25% travel capability including possible OCONUS assignments.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience (MS/MBA with 2+ years also acceptable).
• DoD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS clearance.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT II Certification required prior to onboarding.
• Network Vendor Associate Level or higher Certification (CCNA/CCNP, etc.).
• Ability to travel 25% including possible OCONUS travel.
• 5+ years troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues.
• 5+ years configuring switches, routers, WAN devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead as an Operations-focused Network Engineer for BAN/LAN/WAN operations and ITSM tasks.
• Support COMSEC assets and key inventories, installations and configurations.
• Document work activities with accurate site documentation.
• Initiate software upgrades and changes to the NGEN-R system.
• Perform maintenance and repair of hardware per SOPs and vendor guidance.
• Interface with the NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral.
• Manage configuration drift and update network documentation as-is / to-be.
• Support cybersecurity controls and STIG compliance.
• Coordinate network upgrades with program stakeholders.
• Monitor health/status of network systems and address issues proactively.
• Occasional travel to project sites for on-site support.
