Job summary

Serco is seeking a Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Systems Engineer to support U.S. Navy Surface Ships under the PAE Maritime contract. The role emphasizes lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and modernization efforts to ensure fleet readiness and sailor safety.

You will work with Navy technical community and Serco SMEs, producing technical advisories, documentation, and readiness products while coordinating across multiple Navy entities and contractors.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years relevant naval shipboard engineering experience, or a High School Diploma with 4 years of applicable experience.
• Experienced in U.S. Navy surface ship engineering, lifecycle management, and safety compliance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and NAVSEA documentation tools.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to U.S. Navy Surface Ship Fleet and advise on HM&E systems.
• Oversee lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and CASREPs resolution.
• Develop technical documentation, installation procedures, and advisories.
• Coordinate with Navy and contractor stakeholders on HM&E issues.
• Prepare meetings, technical reports, white papers, and readiness dashboards.
