Job summary

Serco is seeking Advanced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Navy shipboard installations in Norfolk, VA. This role involves fabricating electromechanical assemblies from blueprints, performing preventive maintenance, and operating in challenging conditions aboard naval ships.

You will join a safety‑driven team, with opportunities for overtime and travel; DoD Secret clearance and OSHA/respirator qualifications are preferred. Serco offers a dynamic defense environment with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• OSHA certification and respirator qualifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with power tools and mechanical assemblies.
• 5+ years of shipboard experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies from blueprints or diagrams.
• Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance and reporting malfunctions.
• Work on U.S. Naval Ships and military installations, in environments with noise, heat, and restricted space.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE; travel up to 10% as needed.
• Read drawings and assembly drawings to complete a wide range of assembly tasks.
• Work second/third shift as needed and exceed 40 hours when required.
