Job summary

Serco is seeking a Systems Administrator to support NUWC in Newport, RI on high-profile Navy projects. You will install, configure, and maintain servers, manage Active Directory, permissions, backups, and security controls in line with DoD requirements.

The role requires DoD Secret Clearance, US citizenship, and IAT Level 2 certification; Oracle/SQL experience and VMware ESXi familiarity are a plus. On-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• IAT Level 2 certification (Security+, A+, or Network+) is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area with 2 years of experience, or an Associate’s with 3 years of related experience.
• 2 years of experience administering Windows Active Directory including Group Policy Object management, VMware ESXi, and database solutions (SQL/Oracle).
• 1 year of Oracle experience.
• Strong understanding of current Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Ability to multi-task and document SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and related components.
• Manage user accounts and access controls.
• Plan and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
• Install and troubleshoot system components and patches.
• Maintain system security in line with organizational policies.
• Design group policies and access control lists.
• Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support.
