Job summary

Serco Inc. in Newport, Rhode Island, seeks a Systems Administrator to join high-profile Navy projects with NUWC Division for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles.

You will set up and maintain Windows and Linux systems, manage security controls, perform backups, and support C4I platforms. Candidates must hold a current DoD Secret Clearance, US citizenship, and an IAT Level 2 certification; a BS with 2 years of related experience (or an Associate’s with 3 years) in AD/VMware/SQL/Oracle is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• IAT Level 2 certification (Security+, A+, or Network+).
• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of related experience, or Associate’s Degree with 3 years.
• Experience administering Windows Active Directory infrastructure including Group Policy, VMware ESXi, and databases (SQL/Oracle).
• Strong understanding of Windows OS and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain systems or components; install, configure, and update hardware/software.
• Establish and manage user accounts; perform backups and data recovery.
• Implement security controls and enforce local network usage policies.
• Manage OS and application patches; troubleshoot system/server issues.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; ensure data integrity.
• Provide operations and maintenance support for C4I systems and related technologies.
• Document SOPs and design guidelines for new deployments.
