Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Systems Engineer to provide technical support to the U.S. Navy Surface Ship Fleet. You will contribute to fleet readiness, sailor safety, and ship condition, coordinating across Navy communities and contractor teams.

The role requires an active DoW Secret clearance, a relevant degree or equivalent naval experience, and strong proficiency with MS Office, eARRTS, and NAVSEA tools. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years’ naval shipboard engineering experience, or HS diploma with 4 years’ relevant naval shipboard work.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship configuration, management principles, processes, and activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, PROJECT).
• Proficient in eARRTS and HARs.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machinery and propulsion system directives; review installation and repair of gas turbines and related equipment.
• Provide engineering support for HM&E systems and safety directives.
• Analyze failures, casualty reports, and maintenance actions; recommend corrective actions.
• Perform lifecycle engineering assessments including modernization considerations.
• Develop technical documentation and installation procedures.
