Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Systems Engineer to provide technical support to the U.S. Navy Surface Ship Fleet.

You will assist with lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and resolution of high-visibility CASREPs, coordinating across Navy and Serco teams to deliver readiness and safety. The role requires active DoW Secret clearance, a technical degree or equivalent naval experience, and ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ relevant Naval shipboard engineering experience or a High School Diploma with 4 years’ applicable Naval shipboard work experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship configuration, management principles, processes, and activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support for HM&E systems on U.S. Navy surface ships.
• Develop technical findings and recommendations for corrective action.
• Perform lifecycle engineering assessments including sustainment and modernization considerations.
• Review installation drawings, engineering analyses, and installation procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, meetings minutes, and status updates for contract requirements.
• Coordinate with Navy and contractor stakeholders to resolve HM&E system issues.
