Job summary

Serco is seeking Shipyard Laborers to support a high-profile US Navy project. The role involves manual labor, fire watch, welder's helper duties, and optional electrical cable installation in shipyards near Norfolk and Chesapeake.

A Secret clearance and shipping access are required, with second-shift hours and potential overtime. Travel up to 10% to different shipyards along the Norfolk/Chesapeake corridor may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), pass background investigation and drug screening.
• Willing to work second shift and more than 40 hours per week.
• Travel up to 10% to different shipyards in Norfolk and/or Chesapeake.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.
• Perform duties as a fire watch and welder's helper as well as install electric cable when needed.
• Work under immediate supervision.
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
