Job summary

Serco is seeking Advanced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Navy shipboard projects in Norfolk, VA. You will join a dynamic team fabricating electromechanical assemblies and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.

The role requires at least 5 years with power tools, blueprints reading, and shipboard experience, with the ability to work shifts and obtain a DoD Secret clearance as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Pass background check and drug screening.
• Be respirator qualified and wear PPE.
• Forklift certification desirable.
• Minimum 5 years using power tools and assembling mechanical assemblies.
• Shipboard experience preferred.
• Willing to work shifts and overtime.
• Read drawings and assemble per blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Maintain equipment via preventive maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Perform work using standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Plan and accomplish goals with limited experience/judgment.
• Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and installations with exposure to drafts, noise, and temperature variations.
• Handle equipment with care to avoid injury.
