Job summary

Serco is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Assembler to support U.S. Navy ship installations in Norfolk, VA. You will fabricate precision electromechanical assemblies, follow blueprints, and maintain equipment on Naval ships and facilities.

The role requires DoD clearance eligibility, OSHA readiness, and the ability to travel up to 10%. Experience with power tools, shipboard environments, and reading drawings is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years using power tools and assembling mechanical subsystems.
• Shipboard experience and ability to work in Navy environments.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and pass background checks.
• OSHA certification and respirator PPE readiness.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies per blueprints.
• Maintain equipment via preventive maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Work with standard industry practices and blueprints with limited supervision.
• Operate in shipboard and Naval installation environments with safety focus.
• Bolt/unbolt cableways, deck plates, and equipment as directed.
• Follow senior staff directions and assist with layout of cable runs.
