Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking Advanced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Naval Ships in Norfolk, VA.

You will join a high-profile project installing C5ISR systems aboard naval vessels and other military sites, performing precise assemblies and routine maintenance. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, shipyard access, OSHA certification, respirator qualification, forklift certification, and at least five years of power-tool and mechanical-assembly

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to access shipyards and pass a background check and drug screen.
Ability to obtain OSHA certification and respirator qualification.
Forklift certification and ability to work in shipyard environments.
Minimum 5 years using power tools and assembling mechanical assemblies.
Experience with shipboard work and blueprints or assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to assemble electromechanical and electronic components.
Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance per manufacturers' instructions.
Work with standard concepts and procedures in the field to achieve goals.
Plan and execute tasks with limited experience and judgment.
Work on U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in challenging conditions.
