Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking Advanced Mechanical Assemblers to support a high-profile Navy project in Norfolk, VA. You will join a dynamic team fabricating and assembling electromechanical systems for C5ISR installations aboard U.S.

Naval Ships and military facilities. The role requires 5+ years of shipboard experience, the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, OSHA certification, and comfort with physically demanding conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to access shipyards and pass background investigation and drug screening.
• OSHA certification is required.
• Respirator qualification and proper PPE throughout shifts.
• Forklift certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with power tools and assembling large and intricate mechanical assemblies.
• Shipboard experience of 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report malfunctions per manufacturer instructions.
• Work with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
• Operate with limited supervision and demonstrate judgment to accomplish goals.
• Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in environments with drafts, noise, and temperature variation.
• Maintain safety and awareness to minimize risk of injury.
