Job summary

Serco is seeking a Project Manager for the Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation (NASO) to oversee engineering and technical services for U.S. Navy carriers. The role is located in Brementon, WA, with required DoD Secret clearance and oversight of HM&E, propulsion, and aviation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of seven years’ experience in related engineering management field, or Associate Degree with fourteen (14) years’ experience in related engineering management field.
• Active DoD security clearance is required.
• Five years’ supervisory experience in the area of technical assistance, maintenance, or design related to Navy Aircraft Carriers/surface ships.
• Three years closely involved with practical aircraft carrier/surface ship maintenance, design, operation, and other problems of main propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, and damage control equipment.
• Two years direct experience with auxiliary, electrical, and damage control systems and included steam propulsion plants.
• Two years direct experience with auxiliary, electrical and damage control systems for U.S. Naval Ships.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams providing technical guidance to Ship's Force relating to work on HM&E and aviation equipment and systems which interface with combat support systems, and hull support items such as damage control equipment.
• Lead the performance of inspections, examinations, analysis, repairs incidental to such and make recommendations in maintenance planning and/or repair.
• Liaison with ship’s reactor department prior to inspections, testing, and production work.
• Manage teams performing or assisting on fault identification and support Ship's Force with repairs of naval propulsion and related systems.
• Provide technical support and advice to Ship's Force on operation, overhaul, and repair of specific items of auxiliary machinery, electrical, and hull and aviation systems.
• Oversee CCAMM/MSWP-related activities and train Ship's Force; provide guidance on TYCOM CIP with reporting.
• Develop updated training packages for TYCOM and RMCs; provide on-board operator and maintenance training.
• Develop FWPs and CWPs per Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual.
• Manage personnel to support short- and long-term contract efforts.
• Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders.
