Job summary

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals to support C/C++ software development and integration for Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia. This on-site role contributes to our Software Center of Excellence and includes collaboration with diverse teams.

You will perform development and integration using C/C++ and work with agile processes, with expectations of strong communication and the ability to interact with customers and engineering staff. An active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 0–10 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Agile Development.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with customers and engineering personnel.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance. U.S. citizenship required to maintain a Secret clearance.
• Must have valid REAL ID driver’s license and reliable transportation; occasional travel between local work sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development and integration using C/C++ in support of Naval projects.
• Contribute to development within the SLBM weapon system.
• Support a Senior Amentum developer in Agile development.
• Apply knowledge of C and C++ in software development activities.
• Perform analysis and problem-solving in professional scientific and engineering work.
• Work independently and with teams to meet schedule-driven goals.
