Job summary

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals to support C/C++ development for Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia, on-site. Join our growing systems and software engineering team and contribute to DoW weapons and sensor systems, modernizing the Navy and contributing to mission success.

You will work on the latest software contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying agile principles to deliver reliable software in a high-visibility environment at Dahlgren, VA.

Qualifications

• 0–10 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Agile Development.
• Must have excellent communication skills and interact with customers and engineering personnel.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Valid REAL ID driver’s license and reliable transportation; travel between local sites may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development and integration using C/C++ for Naval projects.
• Support SLBM weapon system software development.
• Work with a Senior developer within Agile development.
• Apply C and C++ knowledge to development activities.
• Analyze and solve problems in professional engineering work.
• Collaborate within teams to meet schedule-driven goals.
