Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking an on-site Project Engineer to support Project Managers and ensure installations meet plans and specifications. Nationwide relocation may be required to project sites.

You will review drawings, coordinate with superintendents and subcontractors, manage schedules, and help drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards across diverse project environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor, or comparable internship experience, preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly with teams and clients.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Flexibility to adapt plans to meet goals.
• Team player with cooperation and supportive attitude.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Willingness to learn OSHA and company safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project work complies with plans and specifications.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy.
• Assess plans for value analysis and constructability; flag inconsistencies.
• Attend and document project meetings; distribute minutes.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and maintain information flow.
• Update project schedules and follow up on milestones.
• Assist in bidding and prepare scopes for subcontractors.
• Coordinate with superintendent on shop drawings, samples, and lists.
• Maintain logs of drawings, clarifications, changes, and requests.
• Advise on concrete pours and inspect reinforcing.
