Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Project Engineer to support Project Managers and ensure installed work meets plans and specifications. The role is on-site with nationwide relocation to project sites.

You will review shop drawings, analyze constructability, prepare reports, and coordinate with the superintendent on schedules, milestones, and site activities. Strong communication, blueprint reading, and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor or equivalent internship.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers to ensure work meets plans and specs.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance.
• Identify value analysis and constructability issues and communicate with architects.
• Attend meetings and distribute minutes.
• Publish weekly progress reports and manage information flow.
• Update project schedules and assist in bidding and scope development.
• Coordinate with superintendent on shop drawings, samples, and milestones.
• Maintain logs of shop drawings, RFIs, and change requests.
• Advise on proper concrete pours and inspect reinforcing.
• Coordinate slump and compaction testing for specs compliance.
• Ensure field procedures and installations meet standards.
• Observe work methods and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Follow all safety policies and report unsafe activities.
