Job summary

The STO Building Group family is seeking a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers in delivering projects that meet plans and specifications. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and safety standards on active construction sites.

You will participate in scheduling, shop drawing reviews, and coordination with subcontractors, owners, and architects. Ideal candidates hold a civil/construction degree, strong communication, and blueprint reading skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Reading and understanding blueprints.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to project needs.
• OSHA safety requirements knowledge and adherence.

Responsibilities

• Assures compliance by becoming familiar with project plans and specifications; reviews shop drawings and submittals.
• Reviews plans for value analysis and constructability; communicates inconsistencies to the architect.
• Recommends labor-saving and cost-saving methods.
• Attends and notes meetings; distributes minutes.
• Publishes weekly progress reports and tracks information for construction.
• Updates project schedules as needed.
• Assists in bidding and developing scope of work for trade contractors.
• Works with the superintendent to prepare and review the project schedule and milestones.
• Maintains logs for shop drawings, RFI, change requests, and proposals.
• Advises on concrete pours and inspects structural reinforcing.
• Coordinates slump and compaction testing for specifications.
• Reviews field procedures and final installation for compliance.
• Performs work sampling and analyzes methods to improve efficiency.
• Complies with safety policies and reports unsafe activities.
