Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, scheduling, production, and material procurement for ground-up commercial projects. Travel is required to work on-site at various project locations nationwide.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and craft personnel to meet schedules, maintain safety, and manage costs. Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial/cold storage.
• Knowledge of construction processes.
• Has a valid driver's license and can travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands subcontractors' scopes.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing.
• Coordinate project schedule with Project Manager and look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to fit schedules.
• Communicate progress and issues with clients, subs, and crews.
• Ensure safety policies and quality standards are followed.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan.
