Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation, headquartered in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Business Development Director for National Security (TS/SCI). You will drive growth in the satellite market, engaging with government and prime contractors, and leading capture efforts to secure large defense contracts.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to craft winning proposals, build long-term customer relationships, and represent Rocket Lab at industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.
• 12+ years in business development, program management, or systems engineering within the aerospace sector.
• In‑depth knowledge of government acquisition processes, contracts, and national security landscape.
• Proven track record of securing large contracts (>$20M) and managing strategic relationships.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead BD initiatives focused on satellite solutions for defense applications.
• Develop and execute capture strategies for large defense contracts.
• Engage with key stakeholders to build long-term relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare compelling proposals.
• Monitor industry trends to adapt BD strategies.
• Grow existing opportunities and develop new ones.
• Present Rocket Lab capabilities to create satellite solutions and bus offerings.
• Lead or contribute to proposal activities and cost/technical content generation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Represent Rocket Lab at conferences and customer meetings.
• Travel as needed for opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.
