Job summary

BD in Durham, NC is seeking a Director of Field Service – Pharmacy Automation to lead the U.S. field service operations for the Pharmacy Automation portfolio, ensuring world-class service delivery, operational excellence, and customer-centric execution across installation, maintenance, repair and optimization.

Reporting to the VP of Service, you will translate strategy into actionable plans, build scalable national teams, manage budgets, and collaborate with product, field, and quality groups.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in field service operations.
• Experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, automation, or complex hardware/software systems.
• Strong financial acumen with budgets and P&L impact.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead national field service operations across deployment, scheduling, workforce planning, and quality.
• Standardize practices across the U.S. for efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, R&D, Quality, and Global Service teams.
• Mentor and develop distributed field service managers and technicians.
