Our client, a consumer products company in the gift, home and tabletop industry, is hiring a National Account Sales Representative to manage and grow assigned retail accounts and develop new business.
This position combines account management, proactive selling and day-to-day customer coordination. The representative will work with buyers across channels that may include grocery, mass, specialty, department stores and off-price retail.
The ideal candidate brings approximately two or more years of relevant experience, strong organizational skills and an interest in taking greater ownership of retail account relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of national and key retail accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand product assortments, introduce seasonal programs and increase sales within existing customers.
- Prospect for new customers and develop relationships with retail buyers and decision-makers.
- Prepare and deliver product presentations, proposals and account plans.
- Analyze sales performance by customer, product and season to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and coordinate with internal teams on inventory, backorders and delivery needs.
- Track retailer review calendars, program deadlines and seasonal selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with product and operations teams to support customer requirements.
- Coordinate with select external sales representatives on account activity and opportunities.
- Attend trade shows and customer meetings as needed.
- Share customer feedback and market insights with leadership.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of relevant consumer products sales or account management experience, preferably working with national or key retail accounts.
- Familiarity with retail buyer communication, product presentations and account requirements.
- Ability to prospect for new business while maintaining and growing existing relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation and follow-through skills.
- Comfort analyzing sales data and managing multiple accounts, programs and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Willingness to travel periodically.
Compensation and Benefits
- $60,000–$80,000 base salary plus commission opportunity based on assigned accounts.
