Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a senior market access professional to lead national account strategies with priority IDNs and major health systems. You will align with pharmacy, finance, and clinical stakeholders to optimize access, reimbursement, and adoption across networks.

The role requires deep knowledge of payer/provider economics, strong financial modeling, and proven ability to influence senior leaders. Travel may be extensive as national coverage is required.

  • Provide strategic input on payer/provider dynamics impacting adoption and utilization; identify adoption barriers and develop customized solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Market Access, Sales, Medical Affairs, Trade, HEOR, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Patient Services.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities


  • Serve as the primary corporate account lead for priority IDNs and targeted organized customers/decision-makers.

  • Develop and execute national account strategies across IDNs, academic medical centers, large health systems, and cancer centers.

  • Engage pharmacy leadership, supply chain, finance, population health, quality, and clinical stakeholders to support access objectives.

  • Lead strategic engagement plans to improve formulary access, operational readiness, reimbursement optimization, and financial adoption.

  • Support health system and organized customer contracting strategies.

  • Collaborate with Pricing, Trade, and Contracting to evaluate opportunities and optimize access positioning.

  • Provide strategic input on payer/provider dynamics impacting adoption and utilization; identify adoption barriers and develop customized solutions.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Market Access, Sales, Medical Affairs, Trade, HEOR, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Patient Services.


Pre-Approval Information Exchange (PIE)


  • Lead compliant PIE engagements to support awareness and planning for launches/label expansions.

  • Deliver FDA-compliant clinical/economic/operational value messaging; educate on product impact, reimbursement pathways, coding, and implementation.

  • Build budget impact/pro forma/economic value analyses; quantify financial implications across multiple outcome and operational drivers.


Revenue Cycle & Reimbursement Expertise


  • Advise on hospital/health system revenue cycle operations (coding/billing, DRG/APC, NTAP/pass-through, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy/medical benefit reimbursement, charge capture/claims adjudication).

  • Identify reimbursement risks and develop mitigation strategies.


HUB & Patient Services Collaboration


  • Partner with HUB/patient support to optimize onboarding, benefit verification, prior authorization, financial assistance, and therapy access.

  • Provide customer feedback to improve HUB program effectiveness.


Account Planning & Execution


  • Build national account plans (stakeholder mapping, opportunity ID, financial analyses, access strategies); drive execution and pull-through.

  • Monitor market/policy/reimbursement dynamics; maintain forecasting, documentation, and reporting.


Skills & Requirements


  • Strong understanding of payer/provider economics (inpatient and outpatient).

  • Proven ability to engage and influence executive-level stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical/financial modeling and presentation skills.

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and collaboration.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA/MPH/PharmD/MS or related) preferred.

  • 8–12 years’ experience in pharma/biotech/specialty pharmacy/consulting/market access.

  • Significant experience with IDNs, academic medical centers, organized health systems, and institutional customers.

  • Travel up to 50% and ability to travel nationally as required.
