Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a senior Market Access leader to own national account strategies across IDNs, academic medical centers, and large health systems. You will engage payer, pharmacy leadership, finance, and clinical stakeholders to advance access and reimbursement.

In this role you will lead PIE engagements for launches, develop budget impact analyses, support contracting strategies, and coordinate cross-functional teams to optimize formulary access and patient access workflows.

  • Significant experience with IDNs, academic medical centers, and organized health systems.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary corporate account lead for targeted organized customers and decision-makers for priority IDNs.
  • Develop and execute national account strategies across IDNs, academic medical centers, large health systems, and cancer centers.
  • Engage with pharmacy leadership, supply chain, finance, population health, quality, and clinical stakeholders to support access objectives.
  • Lead engagement plans to improve formulary access, operational readiness, reimbursement optimization, and financial adoption.
  • Support health system and organized customer contracting strategies; collaborate with Pricing, Trade, and Contracting.
  • Provide strategic input on payer/provider dynamics affecting adoption and utilization; identify adoption barriers and develop customized solutions.
  • Coordinate customer engagement with Market Access, Sales, Medical Affairs, Trade, HEOR, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Patient Services.
Pre-Approval Information Exchange (PIE)
  • Lead compliant PIE engagements for upcoming launches or label expansions.
  • Deliver FDA-compliant clinical/economic/operational value messaging; educate on product impact, reimbursement pathways, coding, and implementation.
  • Develop/present budget impact analyses, pro forma models, and economic value assessments.
  • Quantify financial implications (acquisition cost, reimbursement, site-of-care economics, infection/readmission reduction, operational efficiencies, patient outcomes).
Revenue Cycle & Reimbursement Expertise
  • Advise on revenue cycle operations: coding/billing, DRG/APC, NTAP/pass‑through, buy‑and‑bill, specialty pharmacy/medical benefit reimbursement, charge capture/claims adjudication.
  • Identify reimbursement risks and develop mitigation strategies.
HUB & Patient Services Collaboration
  • Partner with HUB/patient support to optimize onboarding, benefit verification, prior authorization, financial assistance, and therapy access.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand support services/workflows; provide feedback to improve HUB program effectiveness.
Account Planning & Execution
  • Build national account plans (stakeholder mapping, opportunity identification, financial analyses, access strategies).
  • Drive execution, performance metrics, pull‑through initiatives; monitor market/policy/reimbursement trends.
  • Maintain account documentation, forecasting, and reporting.
Skills & Requirements
  • Strong payer/provider economics knowledge (inpatient/outpatient).
  • Proven ability to engage/influence executive‑level stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent cross‑functional leadership/collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/MPH/PharmD/MS or related preferred.
  • 8–12+ years experience in pharma/biotech/specialty pharmacy/healthcare consulting/market access.
  • Significant experience with IDNs, academic medical centers, organized health systems, and institutional customers.
  • Travel up to 50%; national travel as required.
