Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a senior leader in patient access and services to drive cross-functional alignment, accelerate therapy initiation, and optimize affordability programs. You will define metrics, manage the patient services budget, and ensure compliance while collaborating with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance teams.

The role requires strategic thinking, vendor management, and the ability to translate data into actionable initiatives in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/PharmD/MPH strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in pharmaceutical patient access and services.
  • Proven experience leading patient services at launch; impact on patient conversion and therapy initiation.
  • Success designing, implementing, and optimizing patient support programs in commercial-stage settings.
  • Expertise in specialty pharmacy models and reimbursement/affordability programs; navigate complex access pathways.
  • Leadership and vendor management skills; influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset; translate data into actions.
  • Ability to identify and resolve real-world access barriers in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OIG guidance, and CMS regulations.
  • Travel ~15-20%; home office with expectation to be in office 3x/week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional alignment to improve therapy initiation, speed to fill, and adherence.
  • Design and optimize patient support and affordability programs to improve speed to therapy start, reduce abandonment, and increase conversion from prescription to fill.
  • Define and track key patient journey metrics (e.g., time to fill, abandonment, approval rates) and use insights to remove access barriers.
  • Own patient services budget and ensure investments improve patient conversion and experience.
  • Monitor and drive KPI performance, holding vendors accountable for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor payer trends, policy changes, competitive patient support trends, and innovative programs to proactively adjust strategy.
  • Partner with Trade and Contracting to align patient programs, channel strategy, and payer access.
  • Own vendor strategy and performance for hub and affordability partners.
  • Escalation point for field teams; identify root causes of access barriers and implement solutions.
  • Translate patient access programs into field execution with Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure activities meet applicable laws and industry standards through Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance.
