Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a strategic Market Access leader to drive national and regional access strategies for late-stage products and future label expansions. Job description

Role Overview
  • Strategic leader in Market Access, driving awareness and regional/national strategies for late-stage investigational products and future label expansions across acute care and health system environments; interface between company and customer organizations to optimize patient access, reimbursement, financial adoption, and operational integration.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary corporate account lead for priority IDNs and targeted organized customers.
  • Develop and execute national account strategies across IDNs, academic medical centers, large health systems, and cancer centers.
  • Engage cross-functionally (pharmacy leadership, supply chain, finance, population health, quality, clinical stakeholders) to achieve access objectives.
  • Lead engagement plans to improve formulary access, operational readiness, reimbursement optimization, and financial adoption.
  • Support health system and organized customer contracting strategies; collaborate with Pricing, Trade, and Contracting.
  • Identify adoption barriers and develop customized solutions aligned to customer operational and financial goals.
  • Provide strategic input on payer/provider dynamics affecting adoption and utilization.
Pre-Approval Information Exchange (PIE)
  • Lead compliant PIE engagements for upcoming launches/label expansions.
  • Deliver compliant clinical/economic/operational messaging; educate on product impact, reimbursement pathways, coding, and implementation.
  • Develop and present budget impact analyses, pro forma models, and economic value assessments.
  • Quantify financial implications (acquisition cost, site-of-care economics, infection/readmission reduction, operational efficiencies, patient outcomes).
Revenue Cycle & Reimbursement
  • Expertise in hospital/health system revenue cycle: coding/billing, DRG/APC, NTAP/pass-through, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy/medical benefit reimbursement, charge capture/claims adjudication.
  • Consult on reimbursement optimization; identify reimbursement risks and mitigate.
HUB & Patient Services
  • Partner with HUB/patient support to optimize onboarding, benefit verification, prior authorization, financial assistance, and therapy access.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand support services/workflows; provide feedback to improve HUB effectiveness.
Account Planning & Execution
  • Create national account plans (stakeholder mapping, opportunity ID, financial analyses, access strategies).
  • Drive execution vs. objectives/metrics; monitor market/policy/reimbursement trends.
  • Maintain account documentation, forecasting, and reporting.
Skills & Requirements
  • Strong payer/provider economics knowledge (inpatient/outpatient).
  • Ability to engage and influence executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills.
  • Cross-functional leadership and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8-12 years' experience in pharma/biotech/specialty pharmacy/healthcare consulting/market access.
  • Experience with IDNs, academic medical centers, organized health systems, and institutional customers.
  • Travel up to 50% (overnights, NJ/Chicago office, assigned conferences); ability to travel nationally.
