Job summary
West, a leading global maritime insurance organisation, seeks a Business Development Manager to drive growth in North America. You will nurture Member relationships, develop new opportunities, and expand the Club’s presence across the USA while collaborating with Claims, Marketing and Compliance teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in maritime law, insurance or related field desirable.
- Knowledge of domestic and international maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Experience in business development and underwriting within insurance or related industry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the USA and to London.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing Club Members and brokers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research and onboarding new Members and clients.
- Promote the Club’s products and services to existing and prospective clients.
- Collaborate with Claims, Loss Prevention, Compliance, Credit Control and Marketing.
- Represent the Club across the US market and travel to meet clients and brokers.
- Support planning and coordination of Club events and market initiatives in the USA.
- Identify thought leadership, speaking, media and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing on social media content and materials for engagement.
- Work with colleagues in New York and London for training and wider initiatives.
