Barings is seeking a Managing Director to head the North American Insurance Solutions business, based in a key North American market. You will help insurers optimize capital efficiency, portfolio construction, and risk management while shaping the future direction of Barings' insurance platform.

The role offers partnership with leading industry clients and a high degree of strategic influence in a fast-growing franchise, requiring deep domain expertise and a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience within insurance asset management, insurance consulting, insurance investing, investment banking or actuarial leadership.
• Deep understanding of insurance balance sheets, capital frameworks and investment strategies.
• Strong knowledge of NAIC, RBC and broader insurance regulatory considerations.
• Demonstrated success delivering innovative solutions and building trusted relationships with senior insurance decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic client engagement with insurers across the US, Bermuda and Canada to develop tailored investment and portfolio solutions.
• Deliver bespoke insurance solutions by leveraging Barings' investment platform across public and private markets.
• Drive franchise growth by expanding Barings' North American insurance asset management business and identifying new opportunities.
• Be a thought leader, representing Barings at industry events and mentoring colleagues within the Insurance Solutions platform.
