Job summary

Cogent, through Vandevanter Engineering, is seeking a Municipal Outside Sales Engineer to sell water and wastewater treatment equipment, pumping equipment and control systems in the St. Louis area.

This role sources new customers, grows and retains accounts, and delivers exceptional customer service. A Bachelor’s in Engineering and 2+ years in technical sales/account management are required, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 2+ years technical sales/account management

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan
• Manage and grow an assigned territory and accounts
• Build trusted relationships with municipal engineers, plant managers, and procurement teams
• Collaborate with inside sales, service, engineering and operations to deliver excellent customer experiences
• Track and manage pipeline activity in CRM
• Provide accurate forecasting and territory reporting
• Support customer site visits and product recommendations
• Stay informed on budgets, bid processes and industry trends
