Job summary

State of Maine is seeking a Municipal Training & Support Specialist to train municipal agents in motor vehicle registration and to ensure compliance with laws and procedures. The role includes conducting workshops, on-site visits, and issuing guidance documents.

Candidates should have a five-year combination of education, training, and/or experience with motor vehicle laws and training delivery. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of motor vehicle registration procedures and laws.
• Ability to prepare and deliver training programs.
• Experience evaluating compliance with fiscal and procedural reporting.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, guide, and advise municipal officials on motor vehicle laws and registration procedures.
• Conduct statewide workshops and refresher training to maintain agent proficiency.
• Perform on-site visits to verify procedures and provide guidance.
• Respond to inquiries from municipal officials and the public on registration rules.
• Prepare memos, newsletters, and updated guidelines for agents.
